Values
Below are some values by which I strive to live my life. They are a good representation of who I am—at least on paper. My words are in bold. Integrity...is the foundation of a moral life. "Upon the conduct of each depends the fate of all." —Alexander the GreatCreativity...sets the world in motion, promoting evolution. "An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come." —Victor Hugo Diversity...is empowering, a catalyst of learning and overall advancement. "If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities, and so weave a less arbitrary social fabric, one in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place." —Margaret Mead Simplicity...is the true expression of excellence. "Nothing is more simple than greatness; indeed, to be simple is to be great." —Ralph Waldo Emerson Quality...is a direct measurement of skill and willpower. "Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of intelligent effort." —John Ruskin Teamwork...strengthens individuals, ensembles, organizations, societies. "For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack." —Rudyard Kipling Devotion...to our values, to our work—these are the ideals that create accomplishment. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." —Aristotle
